António Câmara is a professor at the New University of Lisbon and has been Visiting Professor at Cornell and MIT. He is a pioneer in virtual and augmented reality research as well as in geographic information systems and has over 200 published works. In 2000, Antonio Camara co-founded YDreams, an organisation that developed over 900 projects in 30 countries for 50 Fortune 500 companies. In 2016 he co-founded Aromni, an augmented reality company. In 2018 he ran the Explora University programme which encouraged students to create their own research and product development projects. Antonio Camara received 21 national and international awards over his career including Premio Pessoa 2006 in Portugal and one of the European Entrepreneur awards offered by the European Union in 2009.
